The 29-metre-high water tower, with its reservoir containing 600,000 litres, was built in 1895 to supply the city with drinking water. It is built in neo-Renaissance style and features a crenellated roof terrace. City architect Martinus Hartman designed the tower as a traditional brick construction with decorative masonry. In 2007, the tower went through an interior renovation whereby the original iron reservoir was preserved. Today, the building is used as a work and meeting space. The underground pump house houses a centre namd Radius for contemporary art and ecology.
Radius is also open for free during OMD 2024!!
